A passion for environmental issues lies at the heart of Kristina Surfus’ ambition. She is the managing director, government affairs for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, where her most recent efforts have focused on the issue of PFAS in wastewater. She also highlighted her work on the Integrated Municipal Stormwater and Wastewater Planning Approach Framework as something she is also quite proud of.
Surfus talks about how her generation will influence the industry, how DIY house projects keep her active in her free time and why utilities should get more involved in the communities that they serve.
